Ocean Moon Necklace 18k yellow gold, island shell
It was two years ago, when Tsuwabuki flowers were in bloom on Yakushima Island, that I sent a small flower ring to the two of them living in Italy.
This year, I find myself gazing at a small moon-shaped necklace, standing in front of the Tsuwabuki flowers that have just begun to bloom in the garden of my studio.
As I admire the shimmering, ever-changing colors of the yakōgai shell, swaying gently in the breeze, my thoughts drift across the ocean to the two of them.
This necklace is crafted from yakōgai shells, gathered from the seas of Yakushima Island, and 18k yellow gold. Both materials are carefully shaped into a crescent moon and assembled seamlessly. The yellow gold gently protects the delicate shell, keeping it from direct contact with the skin.
It is about 8.0mm. It is delicate and elegant jewelry. I think I was able to capture one of the most beautiful parts of the large yakōgai shell.
There is always a sense of joy when wearing jewelry made from natural materials.
Now, I will send it across the sea, just in time for her birthday next month.
It is an irreplaceable joy to be part of such a special celebration for the two of them.
Though it may sound like a simple expression, I truly believe that time is beautiful.
Thinking of the future they will walk together fills me with excitement and happiness.
Thank you so much, and happy birthday!
