Poland–Yakushima: The Story of a Shizuku Ring #YakushimaWeddingRingStories

It was a beautiful day when we would finally meet on Yakushima Island — the two of them, the ring, and me.
I was waiting for the couple from Poland with a brand-new ring that I had made for her.
They planned to visit my studio to receive the ring during their trip to Yakushima.

Thank you so much for trusting me with this precious ring.
I am thankful to Yakushima for bringing us together in such a wonderful way.

Actually, it was my first time meeting people from Poland.
I have heard that Poland also has vast, rich forests.

I was so happy to talk with them about nature and the designs born from nature.
Although we live very far apart, it feels like we share the same feelings.
And the caramel cookies they brought me from Poland were so delicious!!

I made her a Shizuku Ring — a thin yellow gold ring with small pieces of platinum and diamonds placed around it.
It is a one-of-a-kind piece inspired by the quiet scenery of Yakushima after the rain.
I would be very happy if this small ring reminds them of the time they spent on this island.

After we said goodbye, it rained heavily. Soon after, the sky cleared and a rainbow appeared.
They said they were going to visit Jomon Sugi the next day.
I went back to work.

I felt so happy, as if a lovely little flower had bloomed here.
Moments overlap and continue to flow.
