Drops of summer.
The Shizuku Ring.
I made the ring with 18K yellow gold and added tiny platinum granules, like raindrops resting on a plant.
Three diamonds set in the granules are shining in the summer sunlight.
The ring seemed to resonate with the scenery of Yakushima.
It was a familiar scene here on the island.
It was a lovely moment after the rain.

しずくの指輪 18K yellow gold, platinum, diamond
The ring is 1mm wide.
I added platinum granules of different sizes, balancing them to suit her ring size.
A slender gold band, platinum droplets, and diamonds.
I love this simple combination.

“I’ll be visiting Yakushima in September.”
It was at the beginning of summer when I received a message from her on Instagram.
“I’d like to receive the ring then,” she wrote.
We have talked about the design many times,
so I feel very happy now that the ring is complete.
Thank you so much for asking me to make your precious ring.
And thank you, Yakushima, for bringing us together.
Before I knew it, the rain had stopped, and the blue sky was opening up.
It seems like it’s going to be a hot day.
I’m very much looking forward to the day we can meet here at the atelier.
